Mission Statement

United Tooth Fairies is on a mission to brighten every young girl’s smile in Guatemala’s underserved community through education, prevention, and treatment of childhood cavities and dental disease.

United Tooth Fairies was created
to help young Guatemalan girls
receive dental care that meets the
U.S. standard of care.

We strive to provide ongoing support
and educational tools needed
to learn the importance
of oral health.

Children in Guatemala have the highest rates of cavities in the western hemisphere.

50% Percent of the Guatemalan population lives below the national poverty line with about 23% experiencing extreme poverty

Tooth decay is attributed to several factors such as no basic personal dental hygiene, lack of access to fluoridation, poor diet, and easy access to snacks and drinks with high sugar content.

More than six million people in Guatemala lack access to basic health and nutrition services. Females experience less access to health care and education than males.

Our Story

United Tooth Fairies was founded in 2016 by three dental hygienists, Roberta Schuller, Jolie Rowell, and Lisa Mobraten. Through their dental community, they attended dental conventions, outreach programs, and fundraisers. They all had the same desire to help others and agreed there was a great need to spread the word about the importance of oral health and provide services to those less fortunate.

Who We Help

We work with IMA USA ( International Medical Assistance) in an effort to provide oral care services to their students. IMA is a U.S based Christian nonprofit that runs an all-girls school pre-k through 9th grade in Guatemala. They are dedicated to empowering impoverished Guatemalan girls to achieve their full potential through a variety of programs. We hope to continue our work with IMA USA and establish long-lasting relationships with each of the girls and their families.
